We have chosen the location Indonesia/Southern Lombok considering our local knowledge from arranging diving trips in the region.

Lombok is by itself a unique travel destination with its magnificent nature and hilly landscape. In addition to surfing there is a lot of great trekking and diving with hammerheads around Lombok.

Lombok is situated five hours by boat, or 20 minutes by airplane east of Bali in Indonesia. In size Lombok is almost the same as Bali, and has varied nature with a huge volcano, rice paddies and long sand beaches.

A lot of people have heard of Lombok because of the Gilli islands which are a popular destination among backpackers for diving and partying. Southern Lombok is not as exploited, there is a saying that it resembles how Bali was 20 years ago.

The majority of the population belongs to the Sasak tribe, they differ a little bit from the rest of the people in Indonesia but are as well Muslims. Today most of the Sasaks speaks Indonesian and are both friendly and curious to learn about foreign cultures. In total there are about two and a half million people living on Lombok.

It's possible to fly straight to Lombok from for example Kuala Lumpur, but from Bali there are flights every day that take 20 minutes and costs around 30 euro.

Cheapest way to get to Lombok from Bali is by ferry which costs around three euros and takes about five hours.

From the airport or the harbour you will be picked up by us, in case of any delays a taxi to Grupuk costs around 15 euros.

In the bays of south Lombok there are usually both right-hander waves and left-hander waves, which give good conditions for most wind directions.

The waves in this area are not as heavy and challenging as Desert Point (Bangco Bangco) on Lomboks south-western tip. But there is no problem to get barrelled.

Southern Lomboks charm is a combination of excellent waves and a lay back atmosphere.
